One person is chosen as the “night watchman”. The others are burglars in a building.
The lights are turned off and the burglars move around and change positions.
When the lights are turned are turned on, they must freeze.
The watchman then strolls around and tries to catch the buglers that are moving. When the watchman’s back is turned, buglers change positions but try not to get caught. When the watchman catches someone moving, that person becomes the new watchman.
There are a lot of different versions of this game and most kids know one another or another.
